Frenchy’s Set To Open Fifth Restaurant in Dunedin

After three decades of operating successful seafood restaurants on Clearwater Beach, Frenchy’s Corporate has acquired a fifth location about 10 miles north in Dunedin, FL.  The new restaurant will take the place of the Island Outpost, located at 466 Causeway Blvd.

“This is an exciting time for all of us,” said owner Michael “Frenchy” Preston.  “I knew this was a good opportunity when it came about; great building, great location…we couldn’t pass it up.”

Frenchy’s plans to operate the Island Outpost “as is” for a short time, then incorporate a few of the Frenchy’s signature menu items, such as the grouper sandwich and she crab soup.  During that time, Frenchy’s staff will be finalizing renovation plans, completing the new menu, and integrating operational procedures to eventually make the full transition to operating as a Frenchy’s restaurant later this year.

“We’ve had a great following in our restaurants on Clearwater Beach with locals and visitors alike,” said Jen Carlisle, marketing director for Frenchy’s.  “We are really looking forward to bringing our fresh flavor and casual beach vibe to the people of Dunedin.  We’re thrilled to now be right in their back yard.”

This Frenchy’s restaurant will be the newest venture in 10 years since opening Frenchy’s South Beach Café in 2003.   Patrons can expect the same fresh grouper caught with Frenchy’s own fleet of fishing boats, among other quality seafood, to be served at the new location.

“One of the misconceptions is that all Frenchy’s are created equal, resembling a typical chain restaurant,” said Carlisle. “While many of our signature items do appear on all four of our current restaurants’ menus, each place has a large variation of food and drink offerings, as well as unique ambiance, entertainment and seating options that compliment its location.  This same customization process will be carried out in the new restaurant – it’ll be completely Frenchy’s, uniquely Dunedin.”
